Chadwick Bell more expensive than the Balmain jacket Beyonce wore

Since most people in the fashion industry is going through Balmainia (love of and devotion towards the house of Balmain), I gradually got accustomed to the idea of people wearing jackets with a 5-figures price tag. $10,371.34 for a Balmain jacket is a lot, and what's this? A Chadwick Bell Caftan priced at $15,830.00!!! This caftan, among other Chadwick Bell apparel, is being sold on Vivre in a private sale for Vivre subscribers until May 31st. You get a 30% off discount by using promo code RTW09 at checkout.

This means that this caftan is now $11,081 until May 31st! Hahaha, who can pass this up, right? After all, we are in a recession the likes of which we haven't seen since 1928.

Below are a couple of other Chadwick Bell apparel that I personally love with the same ethereal feeling of exquisiteness and luxury as the Voile Caftan above. What do you think of? Beautiful, and a steal at 30% off, or something you can buy elsewhere and unbelievably overpriced.

Camina Campus at YOOXYGEN: YOOX's ECO-mmerce

icon

YOOX.com started a eco-friendly initiative on April 22, 2009 called YOOXYGENicon. By teaming up international artists, organizations, and designers, YOOX.com hopes to take a step in the direction of eco-sustainability in this eco-mmerce approach to fashion. YOOXYGENicon features limited edition collections such as the Camina Campus bag collection, a limited edition of shoulder-strap clutch bags (above), created from recycled materials such as thin strips of alumium salvaged from Venetian blinds.

Designed by the designer Ilaria Venturini Fendi, the clutch bags come in 7 brilliant shades (pun intended), and were made by Italian craftspeople. The bag is lightweight at D 2.3" X H 5.7" X L 39.0" X W 8.6". It is also lined inside with vintage fabric, and has a pocket with leather detailing. My favorite is the royal blue and bloody red, as well as the silver and gold clutches. With its metal chain shoulder straps, the Carmina Campus Clutch Bag is a great substitute for bags like the Chanel 2.55, especially since it is only a fraction of the iconic Chanel bag's price, and packs just as much style and story as a 2.55.

Malibu Lumberyard Mall

Food. Of course.

Intermix. Looks like a corner store on Montana Street, Santa Monica.

Maxfield, covered in wood from a 95-year-old barn, thus eco-friendly.

Ping Pong table outside James Perse store. Bring your own paddles and ball.

Suntanning outside of James Perse? Looks like a resort's balcony.

The new mall by the beach, malibu lumberyard, is nestled between the Pacific Coast Highway and the western wing of the Malibu Country Mart (which is but a 30 second walk away from the malibu lumberyard). While Country Mart is reminiscent of a cozy beach bungalow, the vibe that the 30,000 sq. ft. eco-friendly Lumberyard Mall gives off is that of nature's resort. The apparel sold there are distinctly beachy, and includes alice + olivia, intermix, theory, tory burch, andrianna shamaris, and planet blue boutiques among others. As you can see from the photo, the two-story complex is open-air and tempts people to suntan on comfy lounges. There are three vertical cylindrical aquariums in all, and they are stocked with colorful fish, which I'm very excited to go see. Aside from a table tennis table for your recreational needs in this resort-like mall, there is also children's dance studio that will be completed soon. There is also food (for sustenance between shopping, lounging, and playing table tennis). A café habana will be open by the hands and brain of Cindy Crawford's husband, Rande Gerber, by the time Fall comes around. I hope that means I can see her in person at the café and make an even stronger claim that I just don't see what many men see in her... Oh, and there is sawdust as ground in the parking lot...(look at the pictures again!) I love it when there is a soft and unexpected texture on the ground, don't you?

Amanda Bynes in Love Shop Boho Tunic

Amanda Bynes (best known for TV series "What I love about you" and Movie "What a girl wants") was spotted shopping for this Love Shop Boho Tunic that looks adorable. This is a great tunic for the summer and has already sold out on Singer22. Apparently, Nicky Hilton had worn the tunic on a previous occasion too (see below).

Zodiac Cuff by Jessica Kagan Cushman

Horoscopes are relevant not only for teen magazines and fortune telling culture, it seems. Donna Karen designed a whole series of bags with zodiac themes, and Jessica Kagan Cushman came out with twelve cuffs featuring the zodiac constellations set in crystals on black resin background. The twinkling zodiac cuffs are sure to look good during a night out, and it can be a conversation piece providing tons of opportunity for hand-holding to figure out the constellation. You might even attract an astrology geek or two. It occurs to me that it could be a great "neutral" gift for a girl friend's birthday if you don't know what she wants. I think it's ingenious, what do you think?
