I was walking with chibi and his friends at Santa Monica 3rd Street last weekend, and saw a girl in this wonderful halter maxi that screamed comfort and summer chic. Not only did it look young, it flowed with the wind with much romanticism and hung to the skin much more than I thought it would with such a loose fit. chibi and I had a good time staring at the girl in the maxi.

So today, I thought I would post about comfortable maxi dresses from Rachel Pally. The basic tenet behind Rachel Pally clothing line is its sleek lines and casual elegance. Because of Rachel's love for dance, she strove to design clothes that would show the fluidity of movement and the beauty of the human form. The clothing line showed on the runways for the first time in 2004 and has had a strong celebrity following including Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz, Jessica Alba, Oprah Winfrey, Tyra Banks, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

I love the Athena dress and the Cameron dress featured here. In addition to being extremely comfortable-looking, they are also very glamorous in a casual sort of way (so I will never have to feel overdressed even if it's a long dress). The prices may be steep and more than twice the price of the most expensive bra-top maxi dress from Victoria Secret, but of course, it is made out of a higher quality material. You would need to dry clean your Rachel Pally dresses and that would add further costs as well. Well, let's just say there's a price to pay for beauty+comfort.
