Malibu Lumberyard Mall

J. Crew-At-The-Beach for Kids.

J. Crew-At-The-Beach for adults.

One of many vertical, cylindrical Aquariums, reminds me of Las Vegas.

D'Amore's pizza van and Maxfield.

Food. Of course.

Patio area outside Kitson.

Alice & Olivia store window.

Intermix. Looks like a corner store on Montana Street, Santa Monica.

Maxfield, covered in wood from a 95-year-old barn, thus eco-friendly.

Ping Pong table outside James Perse store. Bring your own paddles and ball.

Suntanning outside of James Perse? Looks like a resort's balcony.

The new mall by the beach, malibu lumberyard, is nestled between the Pacific Coast Highway and the western wing of the Malibu Country Mart (which is but a 30 second walk away from the malibu lumberyard). While Country Mart is reminiscent of a cozy beach bungalow, the vibe that the 30,000 sq. ft. eco-friendly Lumberyard Mall gives off is that of nature's resort. The apparel sold there are distinctly beachy, and includes alice + olivia, intermix, theory, tory burch, andrianna shamaris, and planet blue boutiques among others. As you can see from the photo, the two-story complex is open-air and tempts people to suntan on comfy lounges. There are three vertical cylindrical aquariums in all, and they are stocked with colorful fish, which I'm very excited to go see. Aside from a table tennis table for your recreational needs in this resort-like mall, there is also children's dance studio that will be completed soon. There is also food (for sustenance between shopping, lounging, and playing table tennis). A café habana will be open by the hands and brain of Cindy Crawford's husband, Rande Gerber, by the time Fall comes around. I hope that means I can see her in person at the café and make an even stronger claim that I just don't see what many men see in her... Oh, and there is sawdust as ground in the parking lot...(look at the pictures again!) I love it when there is a soft and unexpected texture on the ground, don't you?
