If you haven't heard about Beirn bags, here you have it. Created by a mother-daughters team, the Beirn Jenna tote is spreading like fire. It first gained exposure on the Sex and The City movie. Since then, it has risen in popularity with its exotic watersnake (sturdy) and ultra thin/light (2 oz.) quality. As you can see from the Bluefly promotion, the Beirn Jenna bags were sold out within 2 hours last time it was put on the site. Now that Bluefly restocked in five colors, you might want to check it out.
The Beirn Jenna is being sold in a number of online sites, but at many difference prices. The cheapest price is Bluefly's $195, from its original retail price of $325. Other places like Piperlime sells it for $298, and Neiman Marcus sells it for $315. Beirn is also having a sample sale from April 20th to 23rd if you happen to be in New York.
Honestly, I can't bring myself to hate the Jenna bag despite it being in the shape of those plastic 't-shirt' bags from grocery stores. I love how affordable the watersnake bag is, and how it is ultra light and travel-friendly. chibi didn't care much for the bag, but he is more into hobos than totes, and I am a through-and-through tote person. After all, you can throw everything into a tote without so much as opening a zipper, and when you look for something, it is not as difficult as fumbling through the dark since it is possible to pry the opening of the tote wider than a hobo/shoulder bag. Too bad they don't have the red one available on Bluefly. Use code "89DMQZ2" to get an additional 10% off your purchase at Bluefly, or code "B9A2MDN" to get $30 off $150 or more.
