What's New on the Web (May 11th)

Freaky Top 10 jeans and pants innovations at InventorSpot.
I thought these jeans and pants were so hilarious that I had to share. Very tempted to get the peripheral pants (No. 1) for chibi.

Vogue Style Studio has a video of the Met Gala/Costume Institute Gala.
Excellent coverage, and I say this because Anne Hathaway got an interview and talked about her big 90s hair and the fashionable berry dress she was wearing. She is SOO cute. Jason Wu was in the video. He looks so young that it's no wonder he recently got carded at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Thakoon was also there, and looked incredibly short. If you are interested in younger people attending the ball, Who What Wear covered some fresh faces.

NYMag does not share in the optimism of Abercrombie & Fitch as they take over Hickey Freeman Flagship on 5th Avenue, NYC to open a new children apparel store.
This is despite a 17% drop in same-store sales in April. A&F is obviously overpriced and over-perfumed. The downturn may mean the end of topless males and stick-thin females as salespersons in the store. In my opinion, they should get rid of the perfume first and leave some eye-candy in the store. I also do not understand how children apparel fits in with their highly sexed-up image and position in the market. No wonder people at NYMag aren't optimistic.
