"This paneled tote shows off its geometric construction with tonal shades of suede and patent leather." - From Bodhi website.
The large Accordion Tote (15"x6"x12") costs $778.00 at retail, and was recently sold on TopSecret.com (sample sale site) for $389.00. The medium or smaller version of the Accordion Tote (12"x4"x8") costs $378.
Bodhi is known for its geometric and often unique bag designs. Bodhi's giant safety pin clutch has been featured on many magazines and its envelope clutch was touted to be ultra soft on BagSnob. There is actually an Elle sweepstakes giving away a Bodhi bag and it is ending today.
I felt I had to show this bag from Bodhi's Poetic collection. It is definitely one-part lunacy, and one-part bold distinctiveness. Honestly, I just don't feel crazy enough to carry this accordion tote. Sure, it's different, but there is a reason why people don't make accordion bags this literally. The accordion part of accordion bags are usually translated into folds on the sides of the bag instead of front and center here. For example, you have the new Chanel Accordion Flap Bag from Resort '09, and the Devi Kroell Accordion Handbag. So what do you think? Is the Bodhi Accordion a total miss? Or is it completely fabulous?
